What a fantastic project! My only dissappointment is that there is not one location you are visiting in Australia? Australia has a few biodiversity hot spots and we are definitely feeling the effects of Climate change. We have problems with salinity from unsuitable agricultural practices, lack of water – very long droughts, very intense fire. We also have the highest rate of flora and fauna extinction going on, yet we still have some incredibly biodiverse areas and very real natural wonderland nestled around urban development. I am in Western Australia where the Leewin current passes and is responsible for the incredibly diverse marine biology.
I hope you enjoy your trip and acheive your objectives and I hope you can make a detour to Australia from around position 12 on the map. cheers

Of course we would like to visit Australia, it is known to be a great place for biodiversity. And actually, we plan to do it on a future trip, since our budget and itinerary is done for this one.
